I currently own Vibram Five Fingers and Terra Plana Vivo Barefoot Aquas. The Merrell True Glove is the first 0-drop shoe I can wear on just about any occasion. I can play with my daughter and the playground and then head over the to story-time at the library without getting sideways looks the VFFs get and the Aquas are just to delicate for serious activity. Running in the True Glove is effortless - same form as running in VFFs. The rubber underneath is the same as on the VFFs so traction is very similar.
The lacing system is a bit unusual as the laces go through loops that are actually straps sewn onto the tongue. If you pull one side tighter, it will deform the whole shoe and make it a bit uncomfortable. I recently re-laced my shoes similar to what this article describes and it was a big improvement. [...]
