However, my wife has always objected to my wearing moccasins anyplace except the MOST casual places. She says it looks like I am wearing my bedroom slippers. Also, for casual use, traditional moccasins are a bit too apt to slip off my feet unless the lace is tightened to an uncomfortable level. Your Minnetonka Men's Moosehide Boat Moc Men's Minnetonka Moccasins® Moosehide Boat Moc corrects that problem in all ways: It's somewhat shoe like lacing arrangement gives it an appearance that is acceptably close to looking like a shoe (in the eyes of my wife) and at the same time makes it at least as secure on my feet as a traditional shoe. At the same time, it retains the look and FEEL of a moccasin. It is like being barefoot, but with the protection provided by standard shoes. As an additional bonus, the Moose leather is very tolerant of getting wet. If it gets wet, the leather retains its shape and strength, does not shrink and remains supple after it dries. (I know that because I have had another pair of traditional Minnetonka Moosehide moccasins for several years.)
In short, it is a great product, but I would like to make one suggestion: In addition to the current colors, carmel and chocolate, make it available in black or gray. I have a chocolate colored pair, but I would buy another pair in black or gray it they were available.
